Concert etiquette
if you have never been to a classical music concert before, this is what will happen:
The concert will be split in two halves by a 20 minute interval. Before the start of each half, you will hear the orchestra tune and then the Musical Director will join the stage. If one of the pieces has several movements (like a suite or a symphony) typically the applause will come at the end of the complete work, rather than after each movement.
At the end of the performance, the Musical Director will stand the orchestra and sometimes will ask individual players or sections to receive their own applause.
